Life is very simple, if we understand how much is good enough for us. We come across this kind of situation every now and then, lets take a example we are selecting a new car. We find a good hatch-back car in our budget, then we feel if I wait a while I can buy a sedan. Now question is not whether sedan is good or hatch-back ? the real question is what is good enough for you !!!
There is a virtual line you need to draw and decide good enough for yourself that will make you happy in whatever you do.
Often we keep complaining, when ever you feel like it ask yourself a question : How much is good enough for me ? Answer to this Question will solve lot of conundrums for you specially when it comes to selecting something.
It may be selecting a Car, Life partner, house or Job any thing and everything that connects to you & your life you must understand How much is good enough !!!

While the thought is quite noble. It is almost in the realm of "sour grapes" you know what i mean. Basically we would become complacent if we cannot get the shiny new sexy convertible car and just say the hatch or sedan is good enough for me. Heck even the level of complacency changes depending on location, in the western world most people have sedans so convertibles are what you aspire for. But if we start being "satisfied" with what is "good enough" then it would lead to stagnation, aint it?
ReplyDeleteWhy would i want to work hard to get that next desirable "toy" be it a car, video game console, TV, "life partner"? ( i crossed the line on the "life partner" part, that is no toy :) ) you get my point?

No, for this let me give you an example you want to eat grapes, you can buy them road side or fine Box packed[Export Quality from a mall]. If Your utter desire is to eat grapes; you can buy them road side much cheaper & fulfill you wish. Where box pack are going to cost you way higher that roadside.
The net effect is you will fulfill you need to eat & enjoy grapes !!! And yes none of the two are sour grapes
Very much true, drawing that line would make you complacent, stagnated & not drawing it would be unhappiness dissatisfaction.
